Devlog 6: Win/Loss Conditions
Hello everyone! In this devlog, we want to showcase the progress made in the development of our game, OCRE.
Over the past few weeks, our focus has been on finishing and integrating the advancements made previously that couldn't be included in the previous version of the game. These advancements are related to the mechanics that determine Victory/Defeat conditions.
Firstly, we've added an interactive health bar that allows players to monitor how much damage the character has taken during the game. It starts at 100 at the beginning of the first round and decreases as the character receives attacks from enemies. When the health reaches 0, the game ends, and a "game over" message appears. This represents the defeat condition of the game.
Secondly, we've introduced a Final Boss that appears when the game timer reaches zero. This boss is notably more challenging to defeat than the other monsters, having more health and special mechanics. The character must defeat the Final Boss along with all the other remaining monsters. If the character succeeds, they win the game, and a "victory" message appears.
Therefore, our main objective for the upcoming weeks is to refine the already included mechanics. This includes creating more monsters for the character to face, as well as introducing new abilities associated with each monster. Once this is implemented, we will proceed to balance the game.
